Who writes the news on this site?
We do not. Tathya Post gathers reporting from the public feeds of established newsrooms — the Indian Express, The Hindu, News18, Firstpost, Mint, BBC, The Verge, the Press Information Bureau, The Better India, YourStory and Good News Network — and every card names the newsroom that reported the story before it shows you the headline.
What we do write is the Briefs section: explainers with a byline and a date, and the standing introductions on each section page. Those are ours.
Why do some stories open on another website?
Because the reporting belongs to the newsroom that did it. A story page here carries the headline, the picture and the summary the publisher syndicates, and then a button through to their article. Copying their full text onto our domain would take the value of their work without the visit that pays for it.
Press Information Bureau releases are the exception. Government material is issued for republication, so those are shown in full and labelled at the top of the page.
How often does the site update?
Continuously, without anyone posting anything. Feeds are re-read every fifteen minutes, short video every thirty, and the gold and silver rate every thirty. Stories are ordered by the time the newsroom published them, not by popularity, so the top of a section is genuinely the newest thing filed.
Where does the gold and silver rate come from?
The daily fixing published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association — the rate the trade and the newspapers quote, for 999, 916 and 750 gold per 10 grams and 999 silver per kilogram, before GST. Where IBJA publishes both a morning and an evening fixing, we show the later one.
If that source is unreachable we fall back to international spot converted to rupees with customs duty, and the panel says so in plain words, because a spot-derived estimate reads several thousand rupees below the Indian counter price and should never be passed off as the real rate.
Why is my city not in the list?
Because we could not find a local newsroom feed for it that we could attribute properly. The city pages carry Indian Express city desks, which cover a wide but not complete spread. We would rather leave a city out than fill its page with national stories wearing a local label.
Are the reels hosted here?
No. They are the most recent uploads from the official YouTube channels of Indian news broadcasters, played through YouTube's own embedded player. Nothing is downloaded, re-uploaded or re-hosted, and the view counts for the broadcaster.
Do you take money to feature a story?
No. There are no sponsored placements in any feed on this site, and no arrangement of any kind with the publishers we carry. Stories appear in the order their newsroom released them. If advertising is ever enabled here it will be clearly separated from the story lists and will never decide what appears in them.
What do you store about me?
We run no accounts, no login and no analytics of our own, so we hold no profile of you. Your city choice is saved in your own browser and never sent to us. Embedded content from YouTube and X, and any advertising, are third parties that can set their own cookies and see your IP address — the privacy policy explains what that means and how to control it.
A story is wrong. Can you correct it?
The correction has to come from the newsroom that reported it, since the reporting is theirs. Tell us anyway and we will drop the item. If you are a rights holder and want your feed removed from this site entirely, write to us through the contact page — we will remove it, without argument and without delay.
